At church, Jesse talked with newcomers about anger, forgiveness of parents and of self, alpha males versus beta males, and dealing with unreasonable people. One man in his mid-fifties said his father told him he'd never amount to anything. He didn't talk with him for years, but reconnected and feels they have a good relationship now. But he does not talk to his divorced mother who abandoned them. He said he'd like a wife and kids, but never married. Jesse urged him to forgive both of them, and to work on his anger.

We discussed the question: Were you born in sin? We talked about anger, mothers, wives, absent fathers, & pastors who quote the Bible but don't communicate.

At Church, Jesse talked about the Florida school shooting and the spiritual issues affecting all people. He also discussed forgiving mothers with newcomers. 

At Church, a woman told of a murder in her family, guilt about drinking and being a bad example. Jesse addressed the wicked Me Too movement and revenge.

First Jesse told a little about BOND — February marks 28 years of BOND. Jesse started his nonprofit after realizing anger held him back in life. He sat quietly to pray, recognized the anger within, and apologized to his mother for hating her. He realized she turned him away from his father, but couldn't help herself. It was not "racism" that held him or any other black person back. Jesse started a radio show in Los Angeles to tell this good news to black people, but they did not accept it.

Today we talked about the ways people judge one another, but hurt themselves in doing so. We also read Matthew 5:11-12 about rejoicing in persecution.

For Church, Jesse said what faith is: Not doubting. We also talked about anger and forgiveness, forgiving your mother and father, to be born again.

For Church we discussed Trump's "s-hole countries," the parable of the wicked tenants, and "the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone."

Jesse talked about our theme this year: Self knowledge. Doubt every thought, because our thoughts are not from God. Doubt the lie, and believe the truth.
